"I'm happiest when I'm creating and working with colour"
Being able to 'play' with paint and colour combinations to create vibrant contemporary artworks that others love is very fulfilling.
I create my works with the canvas flat on the floor, working barefoot and listening to soulful music, as I combine vibrant colours in a seemingly chaotic and spontaneous fashion. Manipulating the surface of the canvas, building layer upon layer over a number of weeks, pouring, washing, brushing and using a range of tools and techniques. I merge vivid colours and constantly work the canvas, allowing the paint some freedom to interact as I manipulate and build beautiful harmonious and expansive landscapes.
Through my painting I'm able to express energy in a tangible form, creating abstract expressionist works that are vibrant, full of movement and light, and inject a sense of energy into the space that will become their home. Each work is unique, powerful and will captivate and continue to inspire at every viewing.
I'm Christchurch born and bred and my works have been represented by a number of galleries including Fisher Fine Arts and Gallery 33 Wanaka in New Zealand. I've also lived and exhibited in Australia, London and New York City. My work has featured in publications, TV interviews, galleries, exhibitions and received acclaim. When I consider that my art is owned by clients in almost every continent in the world, I'm honoured and humbled that people are drawn to, and love my work.
When you purchase one of my works I hope you gain as much enjoyment, that I've put into it's creation.
